Bays Mountain Planetarium Theater
Renovation Project

Beginning March 1, 2008, the planetarium theater will be closed for renovations.

We will be completely updateding the entire theater. When completed, it will be an entirely new experience
from the minute you walk through the door.

Project Details

Phase 1: Removal

• The seating and equipment will be removed.
• The surface of the dome will be taken down, but the framework will remain.

Phase 2: Construction

• We will be changing the way that you enter the theater, which will involve the removal of some walls and construction of new walls.
• A new floor will be added to give the theater seating a slight incline. This will improve the visibility of the front of the theater for the back rows.
• Part of the theater will be expanded to provide additional space for new equipment and storage.
