Bobcat (Lynx rufus)
We currently have three Bobcats.
They are:
-
Scapoose: Female
-
Sequoia: Male
-
Seneca: Male
The Bobcat gets its name from
its short tail. It appears to be "bobbed." Bobcats are primarily nocturnal
predators of small mammals and birds, though they will occasionally take
prey as large as whitetail deer.
Bobcats are shy, secretive
animals, not often seen except as a blur in the headlights.
Bobcats are fairly common
in our area.
