Special Programs
Run for TC! Trail Race
Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.
Five mile trail race and 1 mile fun run on mostly single track (some gravel road and paved trail). All proceeeds of the race will go to the TC Memorial Fund to ensure that the enthusiasm for running Coach Coughenour instilled in so many of people will be nurtured in our young local runners.

Celebrate "The Big Read" at Bays Mountain
throughout the month of April
Tom Sawyer Barge Rides
Visitors dressed as a character from the book or carrying a Tom Sawyer book
will receive a free barge pass.
Passes may be picked up at the gift shop.
"Tom's Treasures" Contest
A special exhibit case will display a "natural" specimen from the park. Identify the item for your chance to win! Drawing will be held on Mondays in April and the first correct answer will be the winner. The winner will be announced on Tuesday. Winners will receive a courtesy pass to the park and a special barge ride.
Drama Workshop

The Kingsport Theatre Guild will provide a Drama Workshop at the Amphitheatre
on Saturday, April 10th at
3pm. Could you be an actor? Come on up and try out.
Tom Sawyers Forest Adventure
Saturday, April 17 at 10 a.m.
Have you ever wondered how Tom Sawyer wandered the great Mississippi without getting lost? On April 17th Bays Mountain Park will be offering a map and compass class, starting at 10am. You can learn Tom’s secrets with this one time experience.

“Lunch with Mark Twain”
On Sunday, April 25 from 12noon until 1:30 p.m. at the
Bays Mountain Park Amphitheater.
Enjoy lunch with one of history's most entertaining and accomplished authors as portrayed by Kurt Sutton. Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy the show!
Go Fishing!
Children dressed as a character or carrying a Tom Sawyer book can fish from the dam on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. until Noon.

Sleeping With Wolves

Astronomy Day

Bird Walk

Take a guided tour learning about the various birds found at Bays Mountain Park and how to identify them. Hosted by the Bristol Bird Club.
